Default Skybox F5s box crashing when changing channels

    Hi there,

I have been using Skybox F5s without any issues until recently.

Whenever i switch the channel from say BBC1 or whatever to a different channel, the channel flickers screen goes blank and i cannot change any channels thereafter. The box has the green led light and the channel number of the channel i have switched to but nothing on screen.

I have to turn on/turn off box 4 times to overcome the issue but now its getting worse. The box is on the latest firmware by Skybox F5s. I flashed the firmware via USB Stick/Flashdrive. This was done 2 years ago.

Any ideas what this could be?

What I have tried so far:

    • Wipe the channel list
    • Wipe the settings
    • Reflash the channel list.
    • Reapply the settings.

After i did this i rebooted the box and was working fine but this only works for short period of time

i still have to switch on/switch off the box several times so i can change the channels without problems.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

ok, i have tried the following as well:

    • Disconnect the LNB
    • Reconnect the LNB
    • Factory setting option > selected "YES"
    • Reflashed the latest firmware
    • Reflashed the channel list
    • Reapplied the settings.

I have even made sure the const.cw file was empty. I did this by using the LAN tools and checking the const.cw file. It had nothing inside it.

For now it seems to be fine but i may end up buying the Openbox like you have stated.

If the problem starts up again it might be worth trying another power supply unit.
