Vcds ori just died!!!! 18 months old interface. Advice pls

Guys my gen vcds just died, opened interface found Some comp burned.
Comp already change No help, can i swap small atmel to clone interface? And Will this work like gen one.

Any advice is welcome, Some good pictures of pcb are also welcome.

Err hang on *THINK* you have replaced a capacitor with a diode
also *THINK* that F was a SMD fuse

either been spiked By bad voltage or power wrong way round

would be better to sesrch forum and see if you extract the data out the chip into a clone, or contact the supplier
where did you get it from? ?300+ VAT GSF do them

Dutch company, interface was about 500/550? if i remember right.
But quality Looks really bad, the vcds clone i own Looks much better.

Does someone sell or knows a good source for eu clone vcds.
It happend while adaption megatronic to a golf 6.
