Hello,
need some advise on what my right are.
Two different sinerios.
Went into a shop and purchased a back pack & a umbrella.
?10.99 for the back pack & ?7.50 for the umbrella.
The guy rings up both item on the till & the full amount is ?18.49.
I gave him a ?20.00 note & he give me my change BUT does not give me a receipt for the payment.
I asked him for the receipt and he says "no, we don't have to give a receipt anymore".
Surely this is a load of B@77@@ks. What happens if I need to return the items or if I need to prove I paid for these items???
I argued with him & then the security guard asked me to leave the shop.
I paid cash for the both item & I don't have a receipt...This can't be right.
Can any shop, business or organisation refuse to take payment in CASH?
If I purchase an item or a service, can they refuse to accept payment by cash and demand that I pay by Card. (I did not want to give my card details to these people)
Surely, its illegal to refuse to accept payment by legal tender???(UK coins & notes)
Any advise before I go back to the shop and say I paid ?5000.00 for these two items, sorry can't show you a receipt cos wose'nt given one and want a refund but I only accept payment in Luncheon Vouchers.
