If you drive a diesel car you could soon be paying ?20 A DAY in a new tax in Government fight against pollution.
Drivers could be slapped with charges in more than 30 city centres in a pollution crackdown
MILLIONS of diesel car drivers could be forced to fork out ?20 a day for ?toxin taxes? under a new government crackdown on air pollution.
The charge could be rolled out in 35 towns and cities across England, with diesels banned from the worst-affected areas or slapped with daily charges to stop them coming into town centres.

The measures would only affect car drivers in up to 10 of the worst-affected cities, but would be rolled out for commercial diesel vehicles such as lorries, coaches and taxis in 25 other places.
The number of diesel cars liable for such charges could be as high as 10million, with only the newest vehicles excluded.
But experts slammed the ?staggering ignorance? of the Government?s plan to tackle toxic air.
Campaigners pointed out that diesel vehicles are responsible for just 10 per cent of all emissions.
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan will this week announce that from 2019, the most polluting vehicles will be hit with a ?12.50 daily charge when entering any part of greater London inside the North Circular and South Circular roads.
