BIN WARS Rubbish binman is sacked after being caught on CCTV deliberately transferring waste from one bin to another at 4am ? so he didn?t have to collect it when he returned 3 hours later.
A BINMAN has been SACKED after he was caught on camera deliberately mixing up household waste ? so he didn?t have to collect it.
Stunned Brij Dhande filmed the worker transferring bags from the waste bin to the recycling bin at 4.27am, before walking away.
CCTV shows the binman returning to the address in West Bromwich, West Mids., with a colleague at 7.47am.
But after sifting through the contents, one worker places a sticker on the recycling bin saying it was uncollected due to ?unsuitable items?.
Brij, 55, checked his home CCTV after bins were left uncollected on Tuesday morning and was left astonished by what he saw.
The father-of-two said: ?Why is he doing that? It?s shocking.
?I?m not getting a service I am paying for. I?m playing my part by recycling.?
Serco, contracted to collect refuse on behalf of Sandwell Council, said the crew member involved ?no longer works for the company?.
And on Tuesday he decided to investigate when his recycling bin was left uncollected at 9.30am by crews.
He said: ?I looked at the CCTV and saw what appeared to be a council employee.
He had dragged the household bin across the gate, to where the recycling bin was and started transferring the contents of the household bin into the recycling bin.?
John Mason, Serco?s General Contract Manger: ?We expect our teams to uphold the highest standards and we are clear that the behaviour in this video is completely unacceptable.
