ECU EDC17CP09 8509757 1037502660 BMW f07 2005

Hello @ll,
this is my first time to post but been reading a lot.

I have a brocken (cannot read it with kess v2) ecu from BMW f07, i want replace it with a used ECU with same reference but it cannot start the car.

I have read the used ECU with kess v2 (see full backup file).

Anyone can guide me what to do ? I want learn in same time, i am "good" at electronic and i am a "good" software developper too so i think i can learn quickly.

Currently i have kess v2 fw 4 and i have bdm100.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

you need at least ktag...and tools to read cas4...

Can you tell me once i have ktag and the cas4 reader what to do ?

i think you should read more,buy now you should know what tools to use, and my advice is dont start with this job is to complicated start with something less expensive. you will end up braking your hart and pocket.

thanks for your concern about my pocket

don't worry i love a lot reading technical things and you can see my registration to DK goes back to 2012.
But i lack of pratical experience, before i was just using INPA and its suite of tools to do many kind of small jobs but know i want go deeper with this challenge i could buy a new ECU and make it reprogrammed with the car by the BMW dealership but i want do it the "engineering" way ...
So please let me use extensively my brain and pocket ... intelligently

I highly appreciate the time you took to write your replies ...
I will appreciate any hint to direction to threads and or forums for more readings.

Thanks a lot bearheroes for your time, I will buy ktag ... in meantime i have compared the content of the file i have read to the original file (downloaded online) with IDA Pro my file is just displaying "nonsense" compared to the original file ... Is it possible that the file from my ECU be encrypted ? If that's the case then how to (tool) decrypt it ?

hello bearheroes, Kess is outputing this file in Read-mode and in Backup-mode, is it possible to get another ile rom kess ? or should i use ktag ?
