    Default DM800HD se

    Hi fellow bros,

thanks first for reading my post..

i have got this box (subject) and attempting to update it to the latest channels (for EPL purpose) ..

I searched the internet for some tips.. found that we need to use dreamedit and flash it via FTP throught a LAN connection over the router..

However, i noticed that my OSD (menu) doesnt have a LAN option at all? How can I get an IP address in this case? Do i need to upgrade the firmware?

Looking at the hardware (box) itself, it does have the usb ports, LAN port etc.. (but when i connect the a LAN cable to the port, there's no LED indicator at all, the green and orange lights i mean)

Can you shed some light for me??

    Looking forward to your replies....

    Thanks!!

    Hi,

If you connect you box to a router (with DHCP configured - usually it is) an IP address will be assigned to it. The only problem now is to find out what the IP address that has been assigned. If you can log on the admin page of your router, you should be able to see the active IP addresses and you may identify the one that represents your box. Hope this helps.

    Hi,
Try this. Unplug the power cable from your box. Press the button on the front panel (keep on pressing) and plug the power cable back. After a while you will see the word "DHCP..." appearing on the OSD. Then once an IP address is obtained, it will be shown on the OSD. Note that this step is only for you to take down the IP address. Reboot the box again if you want to ftp to it.

There is network configuration in the dm800hdse if you have the right box

    Network configuration should be available.

Not with my box but try pressing menu button, goto setup, system should be network there.

You need to login to your router and view the network connection activities and try to ping the IP to check the connectivity.

I dont find any network options in my menu.. Not at all.. And when i connect the LAN cable to the box, theres no lights on the port itself too.. Am i having the correct firmware? My box front panel printed dm800hd se, so i presume i got the correct box.

    Yours is not a dreambox?
Can you post a pic of your box. From the post above, it seems like all are talking about a different box

Guess the only time I can do that is late tonight when I get back home from work. I will post a picture of the hardware box and the OSD menu display that I currently have..

In the meantime, I have this on hand.. I got it when selecting a "Information" option in my OSD:

    model: mstardemo
    sw: 130126.202128.1
    hw version 1.0

    Does it tell you anything?

Likely to be a fake clone Dreambox. Please refer to this thread for some information.

Try manual scan is your only option if you cannot get your seller to give you the latest firmware
