    Default Bought locked PCF7941 chips

I got some PCF7941 chips from china.
They are all locked, only ID is readable, and all chips have the same ID : "55 55 55 55"

The seller said, till now nobody has complained. (and there are really no negative reviews for the product)

    Am I missing something ?
I tried everything. Put even the chip on original key PCB. Nothing has worked.
    Any idea ?

Why would factory make locked chips ?

That is how they come new from factory completely blank. They need to be configured with a suitable programmer.

That would be easy job If they wouldn't be locked.
And for the clarification, I don't mean blanc, I mean LOCKED. Not able to write or read.

    2 question remains:
    1) why would factory make locked chips ?
    2) where to buy unlocked PCF7941 ?

You can write this chips with vvdiprog or pcfprogrammer, need eprom and erom files
Or unlock original chip, no need new

The pcf7941 come without an individual I'd programmed by default it's 555555 and can be edited. This is why the Chinese can use them to emulate pcf6946/7 by changing the id of the chip to one that corresponds to those chips. From memory it's the last byte of the id that identifies the type of pcf by changing this you can change what an rf programmer identifies the type of chip it is.
Until the chip has a valid id an rf programmer cant identify it properly and as a result you can't write to it.

Read the PCF7941 key use Hitag2 reader.

If one green block and 7 red block, cannot use

If 8 green block, can use, just load your key data into the key. You can use Hitag2 programmer to load the key data.

I know. Only first block is green (4 bytes for chip ID).
    The rest is red
