just use internet connection for iptv, don't need sly cable................c
hi, i,ve been told to purchase a magbox 254 ..********* ..... is this the way forward or should I use a box that connects to the internet and a satalite dish ********.. I think what I,m asking is, is the mephod of using internet connection and dish together a more stable way to receive the channels les freezing and glitching or is just a internet connection iptv just as good .. would the mephod of internet connection and satalite still be iptv as I thought iptv was just the internet

A LITTLE THANX GOES A LONG WAY
Im slightly confused, does that mean fta channels on the mag will stream over the internet as there is no sat required? And does the box come preloaded with sky uk fta channels and needs to be blind scanned just like the openboxes or am i being stupid?

If i decide to buy the box without sub and watch fta channels how would i put the channels as the box does not scan channels
You need a sub to watch fta channels! Sellers should make that clear on fleabay who sell it standalone
This Thread is veering into a subject i think we all know we should not be discussing ie: 'Subs'
To make it clear for any potential MAG Buyers please be advised this little box does not have any type of tuner installed at all so out of the box it will not pick up any channels what so ever. To receive channels on this type of receiver the only way is via the internet via streaming, so even 'Free' channels such as BBC etc.. would need to be streamed and i cannot see any person/official company doing this for 'Free' as the hardware to stream these channels cost money and therefore we go back to again talking about 'Subs'
There are 2 ways to get 'Free' TV channels in the UK either through an Aerial (Freeview) or Satellite (Freesat) both of these cost nothing apart form a TV License LOL.
You could on the other hand spend many an hour scouring the internet for freely posted .m3u files with channels that may work for a week/day/hour etc.. and these can be played on the MAG receivers via a USB drive

Thanks for clearing that up digicon, are there boxes that have sat and iptv but of course you have the openbox but is there a box where you could watch fta channels integrated with the "other" channels on iptv which i cant express about all in one rather than having to switch to webtv for example
