    Default Chinese BDM100 and MS45.0

    Hello folks

My first post, I've been lurking around here a couple a days and read everything I can about BDM100 and it's possibilitys.
The more I read the more confused I get, someone says read tfm from BDM100 so I did, saying that I need to provide power to the DME (Siemens MS45.0 - BMW X3 E83 3.0 - 2004) via the main connectors on the ecu and someone says don't power the DME because that's beeing taking care of via the BDM inteface...

Also I read about people destroing their ecu's due to wrong pinouts on the clone BDM...
This one I fear because I have an intermittent error in my original DME but don't want to destroy it since it's the original one.

My 1:st question: whats right, should I power the DME seperatly or not?
My 2:nd question: I "think" I now how to connect my interface the right way but would like to check the pinouts on it before I connect it for real to the DME.
If I feed my interface with 12V will I then be able to verify the pinouts by meassuring the 12volts pin on the ribbon cable/adapter so I atleast don't feed anything with the wrong 12V polarity?

first of all, only thing that can destroy ecu is incorrect positive and negative pins,
so you can check them on obd100 connector

regarding external power to DME, first check without it, if doesnot work check with it
