    Default Key touareg 2007

    Hi guys

2 months ago I succeeded to program a little plastic original key to start engine Touareg 2007 3.0d, with your help.
In the first 2-3 tries to program the key it programmed partialy - unlock steering wheel, lights, but do not enables starter.
After your advice to leave the key longer while programming, it worked. I tried it 2-3 times - ok.

Now I tried it again and the same problem - everything looks perfect, but no starter.

What could be the reason working key to stop work, but not fully. Obviously the chip in the key is OK.

Checked with vcds - no errors, the key is registered normally.

I heve 2 other keys. They work, but there is something strange.
With the one key which is original for the car, there is a text on display to press clutch.
With the other key this text is missing, but the car starts normally.

With the plastik key is the same, but with missing starter.

    Someone with idea?

does it start fine every single time with the other two keys you mentioned?

how many keys does the car show registered? Can VCDS read serial number of the keys or basically can you compare the serial number from your plastic key with serial number
that is programmed to the car?

    is it proximity or not?

    what market is this Touareg?

    Made for Germany.
The key is original - ordered from VW for this car.

Actually 5-6 times it happened the same with the working key. But the second try is successful always. It hasn't happened last 50-60 starting.

3 keys are registered and I see 3 in vcds. All are shown working, capable and so on, no difference with the others.

I do not know what is this serial number. Where can I find it?

Did you try to leave the key in the igntion?

Always everytime this happen when you add a spare key, remote works but dont start, you just need to leave the key in the ignition for 10 minuts.

    Thank you very much.
It really started after 10-15min sitting in ignition.

My key is emergency - without remote.

You mean that not only for emergency key, but for the second normal key is the same? You take the second key and you cannot start immediately.

Yeap, add a spare key and leave in the ignition for 10-15 minuts.

Only first time or every time when I use it?
For the first time after adaptation I know to leave it in ignition.

When I adapted it I left the key and it was OK. 1 month after that I tried it and it worked WITHOUT starter. Then I wrote here the question. After your advice I left it in the ignition and it went fine again.

What will be after 1-2 months? Again to leave it in ignition to get it working?

You haven't read what I wrote in the beginning of post.
The key was fully functional(after adaptation it stayed in ignition to become functional) and stopped work after 1 month - ignition OK, but no starter. The same like after adaptation before leaving in ignition.

I adapted it again, left it in ignition, but maybe shorter, I haven't time at the moment. Ignition OK, no starter, like in the beginning. I left it because I went on vacation. When I returned it was not working still, I asked here and left it in ignition and now is OK.
    Today it works fine.
The question is when it will loose functionality and why does this happens.
