Hy, you need from 2.2 to 3.0 ohm resistor, I mostly put 2.2 ohm because i have to buy it at the nearest shop ... it is recommended to solder it up or plug into a jack and isolate it.

Hi there, I am rather stuck and need some help please.
My car is due the MOT and I have the airbag light on because seat belts are deployed. Still looking for second hand ones to replace but need to pass the MOT.
Does anyone knows the resistor value so to bypass the pretensioners and have the light off? The airbag module have already been reset.
Its for a Peugeot 5008 1.6 hdi (2010)
Thanks much appreciated.

ok thanks
I have 3.3 resistors but if this is too high would it make the airbag ECU to get crash data and have to reset again? Or can I try and see if the light goes off?
Thanks
You can try 3.3 ohms, do not activate airbags, or write crash data, try to clear errors, and if you do not succeed, you will need to get a weaker resistor. Please press thanks button below post, do not write thanks in the post text.

ok when you say "do not activate airbags or write crash data, are you referring to something I need to deactivate manually or are you just referring that using a stronger resistor does not activate the airbags and does not write crash data?
With the resistor you can not activate the airbags anyway, free to try to get that stronger resistor you have and try to clear the fault.

ok I have tried with 3.3 ohms but light still on so it must be too strong. I will try a lower resitor. Do you know what software I should use to clear the seat belt error message?
Thanks
Use a weaker resistor, but frst clean errors by diagnostic with interface like Delphi, Launch, Diagbox for Erasing Errors, mainly to support airbag fault readings and erasing.

Ok thanks.
If I dont clean the errors will the light goes off if I put the correct resistors? I need to get a diagnostic interface.
I don't know this detail on Peugeot, on some car brands the error stops flashing, and some have to be only removed by diagnostics. Try frst with correct resistor.

Remember those grounding bars when pulling connectors apart
Ok thanks for the advise. I have tested today with 2.2 ohm resistors and light went off! The error message also stop displaying even though might still be stored but at least it can go through MOT. This is for a 5008 but should also apply to a 3008 and perhaps other models.
Many thanks for your help!

This resistance is for all airbag types and car brands, but I suggest you dont put resistors in front driver and passenger airbag because can save somebody life. Good works!

Yes both airbags are good, they haven't deployed. The resistors are only for the seat belts tensionners so it can go through MOT and it gives me more time to look for second hand tensionners although it may be difficult to find...
