    trouble with most chinese tools

Definitely 'unproven' chinese tool your using. Your money now has to be paid buying FEM unit

You were a test dummy mate. it's not nice but true. I rather spend it towards Autohex or Abrites

If you disolder eeprom check carefully all connections. If all ok get new 95128/95256, load back up and start all over again.

The possibility of using ista p to fix the FEM is also mentioned in user manuals for the other tools, so this step is not specific to the Yanhua tool.

can't believe anybody could damage an 8-pin chip - unless u follow those youtube videos

Need proper de-soldering equipment even for simple stuff.
    replacing chip won't help -

I have no problems mate I try to help.
I tested few FEM and possible to damage the chip.
    - using official BMW EXPLORER table connection you will burn the chip.
    - using cheap programmer with clip ( no disoldering) you will kill the chip.
