I tested few FEM and possible to damage the chip.
    - using official BMW EXPLORER table connection you will burn the chip.
    - using cheap programmer with clip ( no disoldering) you will kill the chip.
OK, i want clear this bullshit and show u something to learn. All your future questions will disappear .

    If we talking about BDC
By scheme of explorer we have +12 on socket A258*1B and "-" on socket A258*2B pin 6
    1VnXAGuj6e.jpg

From this we can see that A258*1B is
    Supply, terminal 30 Fuse F504

    A258*2B pin6 is
    6 A Actuation, control valve A/C compressor

And there is another scheme, where "+" and "-" in socket A258*7B where

    pin number 1 is
    1 A Power supply, terminal 30F Heating/air conditioning system

    and pin number 4 is
    4 M Ground Heating/air conditioning system

As we can see in any way fem\bdc gets power supply.

So now i can state the fact that
using official BMW EXPLORER table connection you will burn the chip
    is bullshit
using cheap programmer with clip ( no disoldering) you will kill the chip
    is the same

I plugged by all this schemes and everything is ok !!!!!
    Best regards !!!

    dunno if this helps:

    fem connection.jpg

also, i read 95xxx eeproms in circuit and have not had any corruption, but agree that safest method is to remove the chip and read.

I don't think you can have FEM virginized...

    Which tool you used?

You didn't have the original backup?

and tried with ista-p to apply the plan of measures but without success the car works everything but it seems to be protected because ista or yanhua does not connect with the unit fem
