When we need to use gateway to read an eis on bench which gateway do you use? I'm assuming it's the small box one right?

Yes
If key is working key for Eis you can read mcu and post here to get
key password read Eis and post key password and generate keys.

My question is if CGDI can collect data and calculate the password in case of W210 EZS HC905 + old Motorola key.

I know how to read the password from key with programmer but this is not my question now.

Hi,
is anybody which used xhorse black esl emulator with cgdi mb ? I tried to use it for W204, followed manual but under menu "esl-simulator" i was not able to read or erase this emulator, all time got message : fail to read or fail to erase simulator. Finally directly load eis file , write it successfuly and was warned to put original key in eis to activate esl; ignition on, car start normally but if i read again, esl appear that is not personalised and activated....is anybody which had same experience ?

Is it a new unit? Then you need to activated it.
You seller van do that!

this looks like a good tool for me, who cannot do any MB at present,

i see it lets 1 key per day for free, is this one password calculation, so if calculation needs to be done again, it charges?

also is there a list of mercedes cars it can do by OBD? i can find a list but it surely is wrong because it says even most recent MB can be done

Tried to make a spare for a w209. Read eis, went to collect key data and read in eis, then asked to put in CGDI but wouldn't read the key. Tried multiple times, just hangs. Tried to connect dc 12v but didn't help. Key reads fine under read key tab. This was the black style fob. Any ideas?
