Default ignition core Hu101 2014+ removal

    Hello guys,
I have been given a ignition lock, 2014-2016. Ford transit.

The key, is a bit worn, and wont turn much.
Only halve way, from 0 to position 1.

Also with a new cut blade, and picked with a lishi. same result.

They removed the complete lock, removing the bolds.

Did that set of something, now blocking the core from turning?

A bit hard to understand… did you replace the wafers to new ones in the right order ? Are you using the new blade ? All the wafers evenly surfaced on the barrel?Common issues with those wafers getting warned .. rarely the back switch on those fails ..

I have not taken the lock appart.
    Only removed the elctic switch.

The ign lock (aluminium case, with switch at one end, and ign lock at the other side), is bolted, with 2 bolts. To the steering colllum, rack.

These 2 bolts, are hard to remove. And i guess they might have hold someting inplace. inside the lock core.

I have been given this lock, to make a new blade.
And if needed, take it appart.
But the core,, wint turn much.
from 0, to postion 1, it only comes halve way. But does fully pull down the steering locking bar.

And they bought another lock, to replace it, if needed. Doing exactly the same.
Also limited to turn, not reaching lock position 1 either.

Have you checked if the electric back switch is turning gently with a flat screw driver?

Barrel release, needs to be in position 1.
It does not turn that far.

The electrical part, is not the problem.
I removed that part, first think i did.

To have 2 identical locks, removed the same way, with the exact same problem.

Must me a factory build in spring loaded, contrapment like vw ign locks.

    The new key

Did you read the cuts on the key by eye or decode the cuts on a cutting machine ?

I know in fiesta ignition when you turn the key in the ignition without the back switch electric part the key will remain stuck in the first position until you put the electric switch back switch back into the ignition… make sure you don’t have a button we’re the back switch goes … the key turning freely in the barrel when the barrel is out of the ignition?

IMG_20240430_204646136.jpgI always decoder Ford by eye

The key, is not the problem.
They wanted to switch a full immo kit.
Until i told them, they needed the abs unit asswel.

So i cloned the ecu, and the car starts.

They already removed, a good working ignition lock, by taking the 2 bolts out.
Instead of simply swapping the ign barrel.

So, know i have been given the 2 identical failing to turn up to pos 1. So no barrel release is possible.

I cannot be the first to stumble on to this.
So, i need to find a solution, with having to cut 2 locks open.

    1 needs to become functionel.

So the key turning in the barrel when it’s out of the ignition? If yes so something is going on with the steering lock mechanism bit strange though usually there is no issue beside of the barrel itself…

I managed to remove the barrel.
I aplied a lot of force, to turn the key, beyond the tough spot.
It remained turning tough, but atleast, i have gotten the barrel out.

The barrel, it is working perfect.

After re placing it, back in the housing, and turning it all the way up to the start position.
After atleast a 100 turns, it is getting a bit better.
Still the lock, wont turn itself, by spring out of the crank position.

Stranges locks. I need to figure this out.
And take the spare apart soon.

you try to help, put if you read the posts.

The core it fine, the key turn perfect, in the barrel core, when it is removed.
Only after putting it back in the aluminum steering lock casing , it turns heavy.
