I always start from pos 8 and count back.

If 4/5 positioned are used i make eis virgin and u can re-use all positions.

Yes, I always did write new keys on 6-8 positions but this was a fresh situation for me, first time was doing keyless version and the car was AKL. I have no idea how many keyless keys can be programmed into FBS system and if there is any rule that only first couple posiitons work as keyless so I thought let's write them on existing slots as I;m sure those one were working as keyless. I knew you can write standard key on existing ones and they will work so I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary here, apart from keyless not working at all. But it's sometimes working and sometimes not, same for remote functions. God damn it, if I done it the way I always did and as you suggested, probably I wouldnt have any problem. Thats typical me.

I always use used slot(s), replace with new keys so old fob never work again.
never have problems.
And also did that with keyless MB key, tried in all other slots, 3,4,..8,
no problems at all.
Renew or just program key without renew, it doesn't matter.

If there is start or sync problem,
just use diagnosis tool to check how key code roll, fix is easy.
If you only deal with key tool, you can fix any problems.

Hi,

Recently I programmed 2x CGDI keyless keys for W204, it was all keys lost. I rewrite existing position 1 and 2 and I had such situation that remote and push to start did not always work. When put key into ignition it was starting the car everytime. I described that problem here, it must be somewhere on previous or last 2 previus pages.

So I think you found the solution because you think this will be same problem as yours?

Which keyless key you have brought ?
Is it rom78 ?
have you try update firmware to key ?
The latest version is 2.0.0.4

I really don’t like it when the EZS with key tires is a mess. It’s not clear which keys the client has and which ones he doesn’t, or maybe the crooks and hijackers have some keys. I always try to make sure that the keys are registered, like on a new car, on buses 1 and 2.

Yes I bought latest vwrsion ROM78 but did not update firmware of it. But I wrote nornal BE key on position No. 7 and also there is problem with central locking remote so I dont really know what is the problem, this car is after accident and wi be ready to drive in June...

Could you please give some more details about that W164 keyless key you worked on? What exactly was that, first you programmed it on existing position No. 1 or 2 and what was working and what did not? After EIS erase and re-write what started to working which wasnt and is it all OK?

I was talking about regular keys, not keyless go. When you write a regular key to a used bus (1 or 2 for example), the central locking remote control (radio channel) does not always work in x/w164. Then I erase the EZS and write it again and the central locking remote control (radio channel) starts working. As for keyless go keys, I couldn’t get the Chinese keyless go key to work on w164 and w221; there were no problems with the original used ones.

The 08 version keyless claimed that works on 2005-2010 W164 W221 W216,
but may have problem in W204 W212.
The Rom78 keyless works on W204 W212 but has problem in W203 164 221.
radio frequency are the same 315/433Mhz switchable.
There are at least 4 different kind of keyless MB key in the market,
I think they are still buggy.

Have today calculate pw for an w204 eis
which resulted with password:000000000
Now want to erase eis but resulted password of course not match.
Think that eis sw are damaged
Would be possible to get erase password from special key

This are the readout
(read without key, because with key finish reading are not possible,tool asking always for insert key twice into eis)
upload this readout to server resulted on password 00000000.
Maybe someone can do better as cgdi server,or data corrupted.
