    Default TDV6 engine

Would anyone like to tell me what this engine is fitted in. I have one from a Land Rover Discovery that has broken the crank and need to find one so I can mend it.

Jag use it. Is the Vectra the same engine?

    Any others?

Engines are Ford/Peuegeot and completely unreliable with failures and design faults like that are very common. The issue probably here is that the bearings have spun & ruined the crank which can happen even at very low mileage. Kits available on internet eg Ebay. Engines found in Jag S type, XJ, XF, Discovery 3, Range Rover, Peugeot 407, 607, Citroen C5, C6 if looking for a short motor but I wouldnt want to guarantee anything as they are troublesome. Either way it will probably cost a couple of thousand pounds in parts, give you a big headache sorting the issue and you can do the whole job again soon after as its going to go wrong again.

    Thanks for the input.

The crank is broken. This is currently an assumption based on the fact that you can wobble the nose of the crank where it comes out of the oil pump.

It does seem to be a truly crap design of engine, the sad thing is that I know one of the guys that designed it.

Beware Peugeot 407 and citroen c5 version of this engine will not fit in jag/landrover as the bellhousing is different although heads and crankshaft appear the same
