Your dump from atmega is useless !
Do you look at this dump after you extracted?
If not, take a look now
P.S. The atmega uC in general has security bits fused...
so it is a little bit hard to extract info from them...

Vagtacho 3.01 works again
After long searching and testing, this is the kit for VagTacho 3.01 FT245RL
1. Write ATMEGA8 with the vagt2.6Flash and vagt2.6eeprom files
2. Set Fuses
3. With Mprog rewrite FT245RL
4. Install the drivers
5. Run VTacho serum-CD715B710A.exe
Works with vagtacho 3.01 and all previous versions!!!

Don't know if I have the same issue I have a vag tacho 2.5 cable but had to reformat my hard drive and can not find the cd that came with it.
I have not used any newer version software with it. So downloaded the 2.5 software pluged the usb cable in. The computer reconised it when pluged in but when I open vag tacho 2.5 it says interface not found please see attached software and mprog dump.
Will I need to reflash the cable or do I have the wrong drivers?

Is the cable hw compatible with VCDS and vice versa? I have an VCDS clone 10.6 cable that was disabled via original update, I cannot downgrade it because of bad H/W revision (FT232RL, GAL). Is it possible to reprogramm ATMEGA with this dump, so i coul use it with Vag Tacho?

look for *.inf files in installation folder and insert HW_ID and SW_ID pids from the control panels usb device properties
