2) as your have a parts cannon, chuck a crank sensir on it
3) drill 1/8" hole in throttle butterfly
4) check all small rubber pipes are not gunked up and pipes ckear
Hi. I have problem with 2001 VW Lupo 1.0 (AUC Engine Code).
When I start the car cold, its everything okey, car increases rpms a little and then works at approx 700rpm.
Problem is that after 5mins (very little warm up), if I press accelerator pedal and release it, car won't idle, but cuts off. It would idle only if I release pedal very very slowly, and then works at approx 640rpm.
So have very good power, but just won't keep idle when depressing acc pedal.
Things I've already replaced:
- sparks
- plugs
- coil pack
- engine ecu
- coolant temp. sensor
- map sensor
- pre-cat lambda sensor/sonda
- throttle body (also alignment procedure with both vcds and autocom)
- egr valve is closed
There are no fault codes, just one time was showed:
- 16556/P0172 - System Too Rich, Bank 1
In VCDS, group 33, first field value for Additive at idle is ~25%

System too rich
Fuel trim is -25%
Check fuel pressure
Timing belt
Cloged intake
Cloged exhaust
Get oscope and measure injector pulse width
................etc
Think it is chain on these, and they do jump.

A failure will not appear till a unit has passed final inspection

To update the thread.
I've checked everything that I could, timing was okey, oil filter cap not leaking, no vacuum leak as I checked, also from brake booster seems okey.
One thing that I found is that injectors weren't original, but from 1.8 Audi ?! :/ I placed used from 1.0, but still the same problem.
Also I've seen that head was previously removed, so I returned the car to customer, it wasn't worth money and time that should be spend on it
Cool unless some inbred put bigger injectors in and filled cat with fuel
gets hot and expands

i had had a car once, nothing wrong with it, was given new complete echaust
swappex it and went like a rocket

Turn ligths on and blower engine in max,try and see if engine works better,at idle.
Had one here just cleaned throttle butterfly
