    Aren't these screws in the picture ?
    The previous model used a pic mcu, and looked very much like this.

    its a pic16lf1828.
    you can read from the programming pads underneath the battery.
    don't have to open the odo, i use pikkit.
    but there's checksum witch i try to figure out, thats not my strong point.
