1st you need hdd installed to store epg data!!
2nd your box connected to the internet !! (doesn?t have to b all the time, just for downloading epg data etc..)
3rd ftp program to upload files. (only in setting up)
4th setup your bouquets favourites etc?(prob have done this already)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok set epg to SQLite EPG database go to system settings either (menu, setup, system settings, EPG) or (blue button, dreambox settings, system settings, EPG)
In EPG
Set epg data store: to SQLite database
Set epg location: to Internal harddisk
Epg directory should say /media/hdd
Set epg days to 7 (just example u can change 2 whatever latter)
Press green button to save.
Exit
---------------------------------------------------------------------
now go to downloads (blue button, software management, downloads, addons/plugins, Digital+ EPG grabber or Dreambox EPG plugin. (whichever is available to u))
check the download is ok ? (yellow button, plugins, dreambox epg config)
in the config.. package will probably say Digital+ and when dropped down Wolf_nl, & possibly Radio Times as well? we?ll come back to this
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ftp go to directory /etc/tuxbox/dbepg copy Digitsl+.cfg or whatever .cfg files are there 2 a place on your pc (just for backup)
Then delete them from your box.
Download the attachment Radiotimes.zip & unpack the files (rt_uk.cfg rt_uk.sh)
Now ftp the attached file rt_uk.cfg to /etc/tuxbox/dbepg
Now ftp the other file rt_uk.sh to /var/bin
Exit ftp
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now in tv mode select your Bouquet you want times epg 4
Select a channel (any one as long as your in the bouquet)
Now back to dreambox epg config (yellow button, plugins, dreambox epg config)
in the config.. package it should only say Radiotimes UK now as you got rid of the other crap ha ha
set time offset to 0 hours
number day 7
Cron options (will check this setup in a min)
Check use cron if you want your box to automatically get epg at time 6:00 (can set it 2 whatever time u want)
Press green button channels:-
On the left side you should have the radiotimes channel list, on the right your bouquet channels.
From the left scroll down to ie? bbc 1 select ? highlite will b a box now & on the right the highlite will appear at the top scroll down to match it with you bouquet channel
Continue till you have matched all your channels.
Then press green done. Exit
Back in epg config press yellow retrieve:-
Wait for the retrieving to finish press blue done. And exit menu back to tv
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Press red button & hey presto radiotimes epg!! Exit now last bit cron
go to system settings either (menu, setup, system settings) or (blue button, dreambox settings, system settings)
hi curious, where do i download the radiotimes attachment files from,im running the pli jade image and have downloaded the digital + epg grabber
You need to make sure you download the Sqlite EPG plugin and that should download the Radio times file to your dreambox. In the original instruction written by wizbit77 you needed to go to the Radio times web site and download the dat file as the one on the Pli image was corrupt at the time but I think has now been corrected by the pli team.
download this file http://xmltv.radiotimes.com/xmltv/channels.dat
copy it to /var/tuxbox/config/dbepg/ and overwrite the existing channels.dat file
now go and map your new channels as normal.

Thanks again for help, just wasnt sure about this bit
Download the attachment Radiotimes.zip & unpack the files (rt_uk.cfg rt_uk.sh)
Now ftp the attached file rt_uk.cfg to /etc/tuxbox/dbepg
Now ftp the other file rt_uk.sh to /var/bin
cant seems to find the radiotimes.zip
thanks
bub
Same here unsure where to get these files? Or does the .dat file mean i don't need it? or are these the ones already on the pli image?
Everything else seems okay about to finalise the finer points and see if i have done it right later.
Will post back
And Thanks Curious had a Dm600 for a year - this is the first time i have had anything but a 24hr epg
Just a quick question, does this work on other DM boxes, i.e. 7025?
Many thanks
Update
Ok the files mentioned in the radiotimes.zip are already on my dreambox
I have just ftp the channels.dat also as mentioned above
Following the instructions to the letter
Done everything except the cron so far.
Pressed retrieve and it has been stuck like this for 20 mins - retrieving file 1 of 1.
Is this right.
The box can download via the internet as i can download plugins etc okay
Not sure if this is a problem

First of all apologies to all of you people because I brought myself a DM500S sat box in the new year and stopped playing with my DM600C cable box so I have lost track of lot of the cable stuff.
The script file i.e .sh files should be on the Pli image as well as the channel.dat but the latter files was corrupted six months ago so it was necessary to retrive it from the Radio times site.
As far as retrieving the files you may need to try it couple of times or at different times in case the Radio Times site is having problems. Might also be worth trying the retrieve with a single channel just to test it is working.
Seems to be working fine now - still does not say retrieving files but -
My first bouquet has updated all channels to 7 days now.
Will do the other bouquets later.
The epg is obviously getting the data.
Cheers.
How do you get 14 days though. The max number of days i can put on the epg setting in config is 9 days. It only allows a single digit.
TBH with you I am not really sure if it actually ever was a 14 day EPG. I don't have it on my box anymore but when I first installed it about 6 or 9 months ago it was generally referred to as the 'Longer EPG'. I never bothered with anything more than 3 or 4 days as I read somewhere that it can slow your box down if you have too many days.
I posted this 2 months ago on another forum
14Day SlyUK EPG on DB600PVR with HD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry guys but i just nicked this from another sat digital website, so no credits go to me! but i had to share, because it works full epg on ye dm600pvr c.
just follow instructions
the gringo
Requires use of PLI Iolite 2008 Image. ht*p://xxx.pli-images.org/downloads.php?cat_id=8
requires hard disk installed in 600.( i am currently testing usb memory option.)
Ftp the files in sky14epg file to your box, dont ftp the sky14epg directory, only the directories & files within.
then do below
(blue button, Dreambox settings, System settings, EPG)
Switch to EPG Data Store---- SQLite EPG database
Switch to SQlite EPG location----Internal Harddisk
switch to SQLite EPG Directory---- /media/hdd
set number of days to 1-14
X Enable MHW EPG
X Limit Enigma EPG Size
Press green button to save
Download the 'Dreambox EPG config plugin' and the MV 3.5.2 plugin via blue button, software management
Make your SKY bouquet current by zapping to a channel in that list
Start the Dreambox EPG config plugin via the plugin menu (yellow button)
Choose Radiotimes UK Package, not wolf nl(its down)
Press the green button to open the channel mapping screen
On the left, you see the unmapped channels
On the right, you see the channels from the current bouquet
Now map the channels by selecting one in the left window (ok), then select the matching one from the right (ok)
Once you've mapped all channels you want to see EPG data from, press Done (green button)
You can now do a manual retrieve (yellow button) to check. You should see a download window for every channel mapped.
now press up or down button, choose channel with up or down, press info button, choose multiEPG...
(you can define number of hours shown by pressing 1 through 6, 1 for 1 hour, 6 for 6 hours)
or yellow key(plugins) and MV 3.5.2
you can define how many channels are displayed at once within mutlipeg (blue button, dreambox ,user interface settings,MultiEPG, i choose 6 channels, font size of 2 and genre colours) this displays a nice multiepg with a channel/info/program description at top of multiepg screen)
and please dont reply and say this is included in pli image, you would be right, but it dosn't work, it was originally written for 500+, i rewrote the scripts for 600, now it works just fine..
enjoy!
MV 3.5.2 plugin
just ftp'd these file from /var/tuxbox/plugins dbepg.cfg/.so and /var/tuxbox/dbepg various files
hope this helps

Gringo Thanks
Apologies for being away from this thread so long.
Sounds cool but where is the - sky14epg file
The one you mentioned that needs to be ftp to the box
Otherwise seems fairly simplistic.
My DM600 image is iolite 30/12/2007 so seems like the latest one.
