Default Dashboard speedometer goes 40km/h when power up

    Outlander gen3 4x4 2013
speedo goes to 40km/h after reconnected to power?
dont know the reason? Is some procedure for calibration?
it dose go from full needle 4 moves dow to 0 and then jumps to 40 (straight line) and its stays there.
Is this some code? To tell me something or is step of calibration?

    please help

Hi M8, did you disassembled the dash?
Try to remove neddle, swich ignition on, plug the neddle, swich off. Swich on again and test, If fails, you must to repair dump or do calibration with Enigma tool.

needle sits at 40 when powered on have you tried driving the vehicle does the needle work properly on the road ? i.e does it look as if it is starting at the 40 mark and registering up?

if so have you maybe removed the needle or knocked it position whilst apart.
as said above try removing needle and resetting it with ignition on but engine not running.

if all else fails and still a problem go back to beginning and put original dump back and try it and see if it resolves the problem .

it may be a simple motor/needle position error it may be more significant but you need to try all things.

some of these new vehicles need the needles removed to do reset of the motor which occurs as battery power is connected after they have been manually moved or removed.
Try disconnecting the battery (leave for a minute or two), then remove the needle, reconnect the battery and put on ignition or start, then reconnect the needle as closely to originally marked neutral position.

Had this exact problem with a new Vigo and this is what i did to fix.

If it is a NS cluster and if it is not a step motor, and if you removed the needles to do what you have to do, then probably you cause a damage to the internal mechanism. It is possible to repair, but it will be much easier to replace it with another one from other dash. Send a picture of the mechanical components on board for identification of the cluster type.

Very funny. I am suspecting the mechanism and you sent picture of connections.
Please send picture of the mechanism to identify it, or just confirm that it is a NS cluster.

no need to worry just do step by step and it will be normal

1st disassemble the cluster and plug into car and ignition ON

2nd now remove peedometer needle to 0

3rd now power off ignition OFF

4th now again ignition ON and see where your speedometer needle

    All set and works fine

    Will do will.
But: if goes now from full to 0 and goes back to 40, then if i will move from 40 till 0 , I think it will get some force trying go lover and up again?
Do you understand what i wrote now it like has space to move now from 0 to 40 so will remove that gap from 40.

becouse it goes to zero when i turn off the engine but when is turn on engine or dash its jumps to 40. But we will try to day.

    Step by step

    It's happens and it's normal

Replace the mechanism. That is your problem. As i said it is possible to repair, but it
is complicated to explain. Just replace it.
