For reading this kind of Dash (1 ponter, 2 LCD) using UPA USB without Removing the eeprom, you need a special Adapter so that the eeprom will not erase in reading

Same in new Ford explorer with 93C86 eeprom

Will carprog also erase chip when reading as I need to do another ranger soon...

What other solutions out there to stop chip erasing as hcip adapter is out of stock...
