So after a reply to 'pvl' in an other topic. i thougt, let us make an interface picture topic.

Keep it clean. Only pics and technical info.

If you have questions start a topic with your questions and remarks, to avoid total 'kaos' in this topic.

So lets all open up the interfaces we have at home. upload the pics and link them here.

I will try to read out the chips later on and put the dumps also inthis topic...

Vag K+CAN commander 2.5 with separate usb dongle.
Never used it. was handed to my by a student.

Galletto 1080 tool. from autosenz. Verry bad build quality. Corrosion (rust) on the pcb, bad solding, all ic's are scratched...

Vag-com 409.1 i think we got it from autosenz. works great wit all 409.1 and older vagcom versions. Never tryed newer software.

KWP 2OOO + from autosenz. some sanded chips inside. Pcb glued in housing. some glue on ic and soldings. And wired bridges made on pcb.

ELM interface. came with some universal obdII software...
All chips are sanded. no info on pcb. works with old vagcom, and most universal diagnose software. digimoto etc..

Is serial so needs serial to usb for most laptops.

This is the K+ CAN Commander I purchased off ebay. The PCB is pretty good, once the latest FTDI driver files are downloaded the V1.4 software works fine on Vista Premium Edition but virus scanners do say there is a Trojan in the VWTester.exe file.

Here are some pics inside and outside of my VCDS 704 worked for about 10 month without problems...after this perid it failed one time to connect to car,and after this time it never worked again.

I reprogrammed the ATMEL 93C46 with dumps from here and the ATMEGA 162.

When i test vcds i got message:

Port status ok
Interface found,not conected to car

When i connect on car: interface not found!
