smd resistor
hi alli tried to do milleage change on 2008 bmw e60 cas3
these are before and after files
can anyone tell me if these files seem ok
the pic is a surface mount resistor or something which looks like its popped or burnt
can anyone look at the 2 files and then look at the pic and explain what i might have done
to stuff up the cas3 because nothing is turning on in the car
would anyone know what part it is so i can try replace it because a new cas3 from bmw is 700 dollars
thanks
smd resistor
i thought it would be toast
I am going to pick up a used one today
is there a tool to virginise the used one so I can program it with ista into the car
thanks
Read mcu (Eeprom+flash) and write to used.

hi soxtan
I originally used an r270 and was fiddly to read and write
so not sure if that's what popped it
so I'm wondering if there is a safer tool to read and flash the used cas3
thanks
Sideshow, if you are still wondering. It is a 3.3ohm resistor. Arthur.
ah thanks for that I might try solder in a normal resistor and see if that makes the cas2 wake up
I still want to know if the r270 could have done this
or my bad soldering
I modify engine looms daily so have been soldering for 20 years
and do mileage change on some clusters
but this was my first time using r270 so need to know if it was my fault or the chinese tool
and if so buy a better tool
thanks

WINNER THE LOSER
well we decided to give a new resistor a try soon
prob wont work but worth a try
so if I have a good read of the orig cas3 dump
can I flash that into a used cas3 from another car and will it work
still don't know why the resistor would have blown in first place just from writing a file to chip
unless it didn't write properly and it turned something on at wrong time
ill get dumps and post them up here to see if anyone can see if they are faulty or corrupted
thanks all for the replies
