kapdiag forum was official avdi forum , then everybody ask costumers to pay pay paaaaaaayy

Kap diagnostics forum was set up to be the official AVDI forum.
Anybody looked at it recently? Its a freeking ghost town.

There was a lot of activity at the start but then they started banning members who questioned the product or complained about functions not working.
It died within about 3 or 4 months.

Pretty much a case study on how not to run a forum.

When KAP started charging i left - not that i minded paying for something
- but the effort I put in the forum was worth something i felt.

then you have 'other forums' which are pretty much a joke and just free-loaders which moan if something costs them 5 bucks

I tried using GM online programmer and it failed on several cars. Chinese tool vxdiag and cardaqm worked great. $80 dollar Chinese tool beat avdi gm passthrough...

What a pity ...It almost bring tears to my eyes Even if I do not participate a lot, I look at the interventions of your team on the problems encountered by your customers, and I think you're doing rather well. This forum is seen by thousands of people who ask the same question about your tools! There are no bad questions, and it's too bad you can not stand the criticism.
As one member has already said, KAP has really become a ghost valley because they do not tolerate criticism and banish anyone who dares to criticize Abrites.

But I am a gambler, so here it goes.

All though I have successfully did this before, This time I have bricked/locked a cas3 module X5 using online to downgrade 2 weeks ago and a good friend (many know as Lupu_Sandu) helped me and resolved for me.
I told this story to a friend who also has AVDI and told me the same happened to him on a Mini cas3.

Any insight on this? why is this happening?

ps: yes I did have a flashed charger on vehicle at 14.4v and made sure all was correct.

Bmw f10 2011 lost keys..all worked ok.
-Cas4
-Edc17cp45.
For avdi users that never done one.
1.take ecu out(in this case was EDC17CP45)
2.take cas4 out.
3.read cas4 eep. and save it.(I used smok)worked ok.
4.read edc17cp45 and extract ISN number and write down the ISN on paper .in this case to read i drill ECU so take no risk of damaging when opening.and use avdi to read and extract ISN.conection in manual.
5.use protag to program the new key by dump loading eep. from CAS4 and typ in ISN from EDC17CP45 manualy when software ask you.
6.put all back to car and key ready to start the car.
Hope that helps for first timers like i was untill today.

Last week had Mini cas3 i need it to do key .not lost keys.
I had to downgrade cas3.
I done in car and all went ok.add key and all was fine.

regarding spare keys/downgrading - NO PROBLEM WITH AVDI. Just have battery backup ie 14V. DOne many Mini and etc all good.
Rather use this than chinese kit
