You need to read immo data from orig cluster and write it to target cluster. You need specialized tools for this. Reading eeprom won't help because immo data is stored encrypted unique for each cluster.

Immodata is stored im eeprom but it is encrypted. You need to read flash to get the key for decryption.
More easy for you to find somebody to do the swap. Tools are way to expensive for just swapping one dash

I have CARPROG 8.21 (need rework) can it do that?
Also, I plan to buy FVDI clone (still investigating which one to buy), I have plan to do keys for VAG 2000-2010, so any advice on this also would be appreciated.

I guess both Carprog and FVDI are good enough to read/write immo data from these types of clusters.

But what with encryption? Would carprog do it by itself?
My carprog 8.21 is not working. I red that I need to change some components. Until I figure this up, I order CH341A 24 25 Series EEPROM Flash BIOS USB Programmer + SOIC8 Clip On-Board because I have some RCDs to decode.
Can this programmer help in swap?

If you have a tool which can read/write immo, it will handle encryption already.
(So I am not talking about reading/writing eeprom, but I am talking about immo!)

So, I need to read encrypted eeprom, and flash for finding key for encryption. I am not sure can this programmer encrypt data, probably not. So, my conclusion is rework Carprog ASAP. Do you agree?

You don't need to do it manually. Most tools will do it all for you. They will simply read or write immo regardless of how it is done behind the scenes. I have no personal experience with Carprog ...

Which tool do you use and which is best for VAG 2000-2010.

VVDI2, Smok X-dash , AVDI is very good tools for this.
FVDI and Car prog clone should do the job but it may give you problems as well.

Also with X-Prog it can be done, if you read flash and eeprom, but only micronas dash.
The question is , it is original dash Visteon or Micronas?
