Thanks Clusters, I totally missed it , print is barely visible on it , do I take it out to read with UPA or is there contact ports on the pcb I can solder my contacts to?

Sorry , this is my second dash i'm working on, previously only successfully done it on Chrysler 300 with the MCU , I don't have much knowledge yet on how this is done or correctly measured, pins to the left of eeprom left on this particular board are going directly into the mcu , and other side seem to have maybe 3 available solderspots , data I found in UPA doesn't make too much sense to me...

OK , so I figured it out , I had it desoldered and soldered on extension board for UPA for that eeprom series.

Here is the dump for 93C76 x 16 , I have no idea what it's supposed to be since I got this odo from junkyard , can someone please set mileage to 172000 kilometers?

    Thanks

    extension board?
if it is in a socket, make sure all your eeprom legs are clean, and that you have good contact. then try to read again.
if it is soldered on a board that plug into your upa, make sure you have good solder joint, and that chip is not backward or something.
    good luck!!

yeah I desoldered it from the dashboard with hot air and soldered it with iron to my UPA extension board for that chip series , when I check voltage in UPA it says all OK and it says it read the chip, I just realized it was all FFs , hmm, is it possible I wiped the chip by overheating? I had trouble getting it off with hot air so it did get pretty hot...

back to the drawing board here , I checked orientation of the chip, problem with UPA board is that legs don't align perfectly for 93cXX with soldering points, so I just spent last 2 hours trying to soldering it on-off and usually gives wrong voltage , then i finally got it to read , but all memory addresses come as FF FF still. I ordered new board since I burned last one with hot air thinking I got it this time but.... Any idea if this could be read from some testing points on the board?

hey fellow. I´m not an expert at all. but if you have no much knowledge about soldering. better asking a colleague who helps you bro. those tssop eeprom still make me breath slowly in the meantime I use hot air station.

    cheers

I can solder alright , that's not the problem, this eeprom is 3x4.5mm , clearances between pins are half millimeter , the soldering points on upa extension board are also microbial

use the iron with a little bit of solder on it. then check pin by pin with iron's tip
