    Default Peugeot/Citroen ecu identification

    Hi,
I have Peugeot 407 1.6 HDi. Propably ECU is broken. I can buy ECU from Citroen C4 with the same engine. My question is: How to identificate, is it 90 or 110hp ECU.
    Chris

    P.S.

Don't bother. Because of the way the anti-theft system is designed you CANNOT use 2nd hand ecu's.
Try if somebody can repair it or buy new.

What are the complaints? Do you have diagnostic trouble codes (complete with numbers)?

Identifying the engine is easy: the engine code is in the Vin-number. It is the 6th thru 8th character.

I know that there is a pin code. I have Planet2000 so I can do some things. I'm still learning. On ECU there is no vin code written, so I cannot identify it. New ECU (if I'm not mistaken) costs almost 1000euros..

thx for helping, I'm waiting for more ideas

Vin is on your vehicle papers or readable through the front window.

if it's the same ecu, you can virginize it and replace the good cartographie of your engine

when you connect it, the ecu take the pin code from bsi and then let's go

How can I virginize it? I heard about BDM100, but I don't have it. Is there any other possibility?
