Modus faulty steering column-swap EEPROMs

Hello everyone,
i have a faulty modus stering column. I am going to fit a second-hand unit from a scrapyard. Do you think it works if I swap the eproms between the faulty unit and second hand unit? So that I would not have to virginise the eprom in the second hand unit? Do you think that may work? thanks

Probably if you virginize your steering dump the steering column is ok.
used steering have to ne the same family of parts (trw1,trw2,..) and the same brand car.

you Can have problem with steering comunication and steering respond.
