why not try getting a clip
hi guys ive hadf to do some very late lexus and toyota clusters and the 93c66 chip is so small
and i have to resaolder and then solder to another chip adapter
i bought this adpater from advice from guys on here
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SOIC8-SO...sid=m570.l1313
I tried the first chip on it yesterday but this adapter is a tiny bit to wide
this is for chips that are 6mm wide
the chip I have is about 3.5 mm wide
does anyone know where I can get same adapter but for the 3.5 mm wide chip
thanks

everyone says to remove the chip if its a 93cXX
so this is not as good as the once that u sit the chip inside
just all the ones i find are for the 6mm wide chip
the chip i have is 3.5mm wide
I also remove before programming, but in all other toyotas before this, i have always done in circuit. So can anyway explai why this type toyota needs to be removed or is it because just to be safe
I do these 3.5 in place no need to remove chip or solder 5min job.

Never had a problem doing them io the board, I just solder to test points round the eeprom if my memory serve me right there is never a test point for pin 2 or 4 so normally just solder direct to pin.
problem is this chip is half the size of soi8 chips
very fiddly
so i bought an adpater u sit chip inisde and it clamps to the chip but its the wrong size
so im tyring to find where to buy the correct size part
Soic8
tsop8
msop8
Ive neer seen clips for tsop or msop only pogo readers. In my experience you waste more time trying to get a good read with pogo readers then what it takes to just place on an adapter and put it back.

They dont make clips for TSSOP-8 neither MSOP-8 as the previous member mentioned.
here is a link for the MSOP-8 that you need, for that nano eeprom

A simple thanks would do, If it didn't work at least I tried.

Desolder 5 seconds, read 5 seconds, solder 5 seconds.
without risk.

I have to see how your desolder heats up in 5 seconds, hahaha

You can also use the bdm points to read that eeprom.
Good Luck!
