Default 2007 BMW 730d E65 Cutting out while driving. FULL SHUT DOWN.

The man says the car starts and drives ok although airbag light is on and ABS and traction control light is on. After car has been driven for apprx 40 minutes everything shuts down. Clocks go off and gearbox tries to enter park so he says - all a bit scary apparently. I'm dubious about the CAS unit being faulty but it could well be. Has anyone ever come across this where the car acts just as if the driver has shut the car down by removing the key while driving? Thats how he describes it anyway. Everything stays dead until it all cools down and then it will start and drive again. Ive read about the IVM having issues when it gets too warm. Is this a possibility? Any help appreciated. (Ive got ISTA-D, not had chance to read any codes etc. yet - can post them if needed).

Customer also brought with him a 2nd hand key and CAS module. He had already plugged this in and surprise surprise car didnt start. No shock there then. He asked me if I could either program this 2nd hand CAS in or clone it. Now I aint that stupid. Dont want a dead 730d cluttering the yard up. Customer is in West Yorkshire if anyone wants the job. Reply here or PM me.

Cant find an IVM module on this. Nothing else in box except ECU. Shit loads of fault codes all over it. Power supply issues amongst 50+ other codes. As usual where we are customer always wanted one of these and thinks its fixable for sane price as an old Fiesta. Under priced nobwit with over priced German tat.
