Hey, why are you doing this so complicated? Use soldering, not clips and wires.
Hi Guys,
at first I apologize for my beginner question. I hope they aren't too stupid.
I'm trying to read out the EEPROM of an old Golf 3/Vento dash
I've already read and modified the 93C46 from a VDO 1H6 919 033F. The chip there ist DIP8, which was easy to handle.
No problems there.
Now comes the problem:
It is a 1H5 919 033F from MotoMeter. Software 5.8, HW 6.0.
The chip is a 93C56 from National Semiconductor. Bad: It's a SOIC14 = SMD with 14pins.
Somebody has soldered out the EEPROM for me, I don't have the soldering equipment for SMT.
I'm using the EZP2010. When I try to read out the EEPROM it reads out something... but this seem corrupted.
I can't with the k-value (3838), can't find the value for rpm (12270) and not the mileage (159026km). Anyway I put the Dump with the post.
For reading out I've made a adapter. The wires have contact to the legs of EEPROM, checked it with mutlimeter.
- Bad contact?
- Wires with to high resistance or impedance?
- EZP2010 not suitable for 93C56?
Thanks for your hints!

Thanks for your response. You mean soldering wires direct to the legs of the chip?

You mean such a thing?

yes, exact... clean legs before put in the adapter...
or you can can solder it direct to the pcb you put it right now...

Ahh thank you both! I've clicked the buttons.
I'll order the missing part (adapter) and then everything should work.
