ford continental engine ecu damaged - repair ?
pleas excuse my lack of knowledge on this,
ecu has a hole smashed in casing - car still runs
from what i can see it looks like a capacitor is damaged, its in a square plastic housing.
is it possible to open these and repair components without experience of this type of unit ?
i have a few pics if required.

2nd pic is through hole.
i obtained a similar ( not identical ) scrap ecu from a 2009 mondeo today which i split, lid came off glue ok, board removes easily - it seems theres two upright caps on a daughter board which are the damaged one on mine ( i think)
mine is 2013 and as yet i have not attempted to open.

post a picture of the inside of the damaged ECU so we can see exactly what is damaged.

Open the ECU, and take a picture of what is damaged, without this, it will be difficult to identify what is damaged, playing the game of guess is going to be hard, probably easy to won the euromillions just kidding.
