Just a short story,
The client bought the car with immo off with 2 keys without transponder.
I extracted the pin code using tacho, read/write ecu eeprom dump with soldering since i dont have vag k+ commander and turned immo on. The car wont start until i program the new key.
I suspect two things, why the car is immo off in the first place??
Keys lost?
Or something was wrong with immo system? If that the case that can explain why i cant program a new key.
Im right?

I have another question, can this key work for central locking without getting programmed for immo?

Ok then, i will try to change the coil reader on the car, maybe its the source of problem
Why don't you leave the car with immo off and just program the remote? I don't think someone will steal a golf 2002..if there are lights on dash just use the paper method.
Also upload your dump here. Someone will be able to tell you if is OK..
If you have a bad Vcds clone than try something else. Many diagnostic tools can program new transponder if you have pin code..

You have a point dear Comizelu, that message on the screen we won't see

anyway this is the dumps with on and off attached.
to consider that I do have only vag tacho and vcds for german cars, i'm mastering only french cars PSA/renault...
Thanks for your help guys
Read cluster dump and post here. So it can be verified.
This should be a fast job. With good tools.
Check coil ring, with Coil ring tool. Solderpoints on the cluster PCB. From the cable of the coil ring
If the solderpoints are bad. The signal will maybe be weak. And transponder then needs to be closer to the coil ring to make a good signal. This could be the reason for making ImmoOff.
I had one of these a while back. Standard key not accepted. (The OBD tool did not see the key). But a shorter key. Which had the transponder closer to the ring. Did work.
Solved doing read/add/write back.
I have also read a tip of adjusting the steering column. Up and down. A couple of times. Not sure if makes any differences though.
But suddenly all keys did work in the vehicle. And I did not solder, the solder points of the cluster. It was the same vehicle you are doing now.

Thx weasel3 and all my respect, that was a good explanation, let me check everything and will be back
You can use the VAG IMMO Emulator. And there will not be an error on the dashboard.

I will try it vaicekas thx for the suggestion...
Anyway, i will let it off for now because something is wrong with coil reader, i have weak signal on vcds as error...
Btw, i tried to program the remote for central locking, i cant enter in programming mode
I followed this tuto
Steps:1. Key in ignition, turned to ON (not started, just on dash)2. Doors, trunk, hood closed3. 2nd key in drivers door4. Turn doorkey to unlock position (counter clockwise) and hold approx 10 seconds until horn honks 3 times
for remote use this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_DrT8W-_uQ

I followed the video, wont work "for some reasons", after reading on forum, seems that i have to fix some issue first and the reader coil is one of them to proceed with anything related to immo and remote...
I wasnt getting this error before:
01128 - Immobilizer pickup coil (D2)
That explain
Ok fixed the problem with coil reader, and the immo is working as fine now, key programmed but still cannot make the remote working, the car isnt responding when applying the manual steps trough the driver door and even using vcds central conv steps...
I still have this issue, 00953 - interior light time limit 25-10 - unknown switch condition
Is it related?
Guys, i can't understand how the remote central locking works in Golf 4
Is it related to the Autoradio???!! cuz it's an aftermarket radio mounted
For the 00953 - interior light time limit 25-10 - unknown switch condition
All the interior lights working just fine, when opening the doors, the light comes on for about 20 seconds then off, all bulbs are okay. but still got this error msg.
Checked the fuse 14 & othes with multimeter all are ok.
I wasn't able to program the key remote using vcds, on each time, i got an error message of "bad key programming"
Even using those steps :
1. Key in ignition, turned to ON (not started, just lights on dash)
2. Doors, trunk, hood closed
3. 2nd key in drivers door
4. Turn door key to unlock position (counter clockwise) and hold approx 10 seconds until horn honks 3 times
failure at step 4, the horn won't honks, nor does the whitebox ever click
i would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
