    Default Range Rover sport

2007 reg, 2.7 diesel. Car will not turn over. When ignition key is turned, all you hear is a click from passenger side fuse box. If I bridge starter relay,it will turn over but still will not start. Red light on dash going out. No faults stored, can anyone help

I have checked all fuses. The story was customer was driving car and went up small incline, all lights came on dash ,car cut out. Sometimes when you bridge starter relay car will start for about 15 secs then cut out, but doesn't do this all the time. Will never crank off key.

Ok, not sure if this is the one, and don't fully understand how you "do this"

if you was going to break into the vehicle late at night, without making much noise, and no glass breaking
how would you doing using a pair of garden shears or simular?

If I get it right, there are only two pedals under the steering wheel......
Do whatever you can to convince TCM that is in park or neutral
Never saw a car with automatic transmision that can crank when in ghear
With ignition on, PRND has the D ligt?
A failure will not appear till a unit has passed final inspection

The range switch is internal on ZF transmissions, in the form of a sliding magnet built into the side of
the valve body. just cleaning sometime helps, they tend to pick up metal swarth and create all sorts
of weird can signals back to the TCM.

There are also problems with the valve block and solenoids. When this failure starts to occur, shift quality and speed, torque transfer and even loss of ability to engage gears can occur.
A failure will not appear till a unit has passed final inspection

Unless it a french one, Citroen berlingo multispace with the gear selector turn knob on the dash. and they like to utilise the stop/start before the vehicle has even stopped it seems. RUBBISH.
