Default Problems with Smart fortwo ECU

I hade a working Smart fortwo 2003 with modified ECU...
    The ECU is 0261 205 006
The car was working with this tuned software but i have planned to sell the car so i wanna go to standard files..
So i unmounted the ECU and read out the EE prom and the flash memory and saved it for backup.
Then i mount back ECU and used the Galetto obd/usb interface and flash a standard file for this car/engine
Now its not working... cluster flashing with one line..
So i unmount the ECU and unsolder the chips again and replace both file with the one i read out, still not working...

Is there some memory in the microprocessor i can program to get it to work again or what to do?

If i take a working ECU from scrap could i reprogram ee memory with the right chassie number?

2003.... 599 or 698 engine...? not that you had flash it with the wrong software...

maybe you solder points are not good...check it...

when you connect galletto with ecu, you get ecu id...?

    Engine is 698
I take software from my other car (same engine and year) with galetto in boot mode (ground flash pin 28 in ecu)
    Soldering is correct, double checked
    Galetto cant connect, no id.

find a similar problem here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-be-written-to

if your joint is dark grey or you moved the chip before the solder set you can have problems.
    have fun everybody.

have you tried one of them auto solder sucker irons yet i notice theres a fat one and a new skinny one.

ive done a bit of soldering but not enough to see dendrites or tin that eats gold tracks.

i heard if you use winols on this model it calculates a dodjy checksum, worth a check
    have fun everybody.

I dont have any software to tune the files, i have a working ecu and read out the files for backup.
The car have then been used several months.
Then i took the standard file for this engine/car and use the Galetto to flash the file, but now the ecu is blocked or something.
So i unsolder the flash and use my programmer to replace the files to the files i read out but still ecu not working...

the eeprom is a soic8 a 24c i think, the format is e2p, the dump can be read with carprog clone via obd2 but im not 100% sure. i would guess and say the 24c soic8 can be transferred over
