Default Need Advice on ECU swap Mercedes Benz E212 (E250 blue CDI)

I have a Mercedes E250 Blue (W212) which fried an ECU. So i decided to buy a new one. I saw one on ebay with the same part number, FV number and HW number. I did a DPF job on this car so I have the Full BDM file. I have never done an ECU swap before, what i want to know is if I write the BDM files on the new ECU do I still need to a MB star to code or synch the ECU to the car?

Hey mate personalize means when you change your EIS you need to personalize between ESL EIS And the ECU to make them all recognize to each other

In other words you are saying its pointless to write any of the files i took from old ECU...you are saying I still need MB star to personalize between ESL EIS and ECU?

Yes the thing is really hard to read complete data from a used ECU its hard job cz there is BDM, flash ... and its a long procedure.
This happened with me so the easiest way i have a tool from Simon Touch.
1- renew the used ECU without opening the ECU, you work on table
2- you personalize without ISCN coding .
So just you personalize and start the car the job will take less then 2 minutes.

Enjoy the comment my mate and good luck
