the mercedes a160 had a starter motor failure and a new starter was ordered however the new starter was the non chipped type.

the car would not start, so a direct positive starter button was installed and at the moment you turn the key you press the button to power the starter, then it starts and runs fine.

due to the car not starting with the key the odometer light will not illuminate.

is there a way to get this car starting correctly without buying an scn codeable starter motor and buying a code etc?
