    Post BMW E60 EDC16CP35 - 530D , M57N2, 170KW/231HP

EDIT : ECU Readout on post #8 in this Thread - I GOT IT Yippie

    Hello everybody
I´m new here, My Name is Joachim, im from Europe
I´m 33 Years old and have some Interests in ECU Programming.

    I´m fit with Siemens MS42 and MS43.

For 5 Weeks i bought my first BMW Diesel, its a E60, 530D, from June/2006, Engine Typ: M57N2, with Bosch EDC16CP35.

I Have the option (with Original Equipment) To flash every ZUSB on this ECU.

I Have some Questions, before i ask somebody to remap some things for me.
I dont want to touch a EDC ECU ! (With Siemens i have no Problems)

My car, surelyyyyyy, has a Particel Filter (DPF) Installed, I Kicked the Partikel Filter Part out of the Assembly, and only leave the Catalytic converter in it.

I Have two Original Specific Options i can write to the DDE.

    - The Original one, with DPF -> The engine has excessive Power !, but of course about 10 km driven, it goes to "Limp Mode" (Without any Check engine Light)
Error Memory: Particel Filter Pressure, and Filtersystem not Present. .
This Software turns on Check engine light after Ignition is switched on- and goes off when the engine is starting.

    - Then Exists a orginal Software from BMW: Option SA169, Exhaust specification EU3, where instead of the Particle Filter only a Catalytic converter is Present (This Software i´m Currently drivin)
Error Free, DPF Is here already "off". BUT: check Engine light is NOT illuminating at ignition on.
AND The engine , i feel so, hasn´t the Power as with the DPF Software.

But i need for the yearly Technical Check by our laws here, that this light shows up at ignition on ! (And go off after engine start)

About the EGR/AGR: I switch to +80mg Air / Hub with Toolset32, No Problems with it.

A Question to all Tuners here:
    What would you do ?
    - Tune my DPF-OFF (EU3) File and switch the Check engine light on, on ignition ?

    OR

    - Tune my original DPF File, and switch here the DPF off ?

Have MPPS V16, to read it out.
( I read about some Problems with it, but i think, its, because People select the wrong ECU before REWRITE it.)
    EDC16CP35 readout should be 2MB or 1MB ? (EDC16C31 was 1 MB or ??)
I Must look to MPPS for myself which ECU i must select, i get MPPS this week...

    AND:

Is everyone here so free, and can do this Changes for me ?

Had Coded the Car already to +SA169, so the "Particle Filter" is Removed from the CBS (Service in the idrive Display)

    Many Greetings
    Joachim

Edit: Will Upload an Original File WITH DPF, this Week (Wait for MPPS).
Help for DPF OFF and a Remap to more Power/Torque (Original is 231HP / 500NM Torque) is welcome / Car has a manual Tranny
Any Safety Things (Temperature, RPM Limiter, Speed Limiter etc...) Same as AGR/EGR: Please Leave Original as is.

Will write a reply Posting with the File then .

Best to back to stock with winkfp, then read file with mpps, modify, and write back

    Hi, Thanks for your response

    Okay i will do so.

Do you know, if i Rewrite the modified File then with MPPS - Fails, i can reprogramm it without Troubles with Winkfp (I have all SP Daten , this is no Problem for me? Or is the ECU Totally bricked and on the diagnosis Bus "Offline"- when a remap with mpps fails (Write error for example ...)
    Greetings
    Have a nice week

here take a look at this thread...

    http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...eeded-EDC16C31

he uses telwin... a 500€ power supplier and X17 a 5500€ tool.... and it went bad...

it´s easy to open this ecu and with bdm reader you´ll be much more safer...

but yes, it´s possible to do it over OBD...

and if you´ll be able to recover it by winkfp depends if ecu is responsing or not...

When i helped you press Thanks and Reputation...

    Hihi.

    Okay thanks.

On the Siemens MS42/MS43, i know (Tested) If a MPPS or Galetto Flash - FAILS, it EVER can be recovered with winkfp.
I Think the Basic OS on this ECUs is never touched.
I Dont know how this on EDC is.

Hm... Bosch ... Better forget it... *looooooooooooool*
We will see, i wait for my mpps now, and look that i can do a readout.

    Hello.

    Today MPPS is here

I found in ECU List 2 Options.

    530 3.0D Bosch EDC16C35 K_Line_Fast/CAN

    or

    530 3.0D Bosch EDC16C35 K_Line_Slow/CAN

I Think "Data only" (Partial Read) is enough or ? Is a Full readout needed ?

Which of this 2 Options shall i choose for Reading/Writing ?
On both Options MPPS says as Info: 14V Or above are recommended. (14 V Is a Voltage, that only is Present when the car is running and supplied by the generator ???)
Is it Okay, when i Plugin a Batterycharger while readout ? (Battery is new, My Car is generally fully serviced by me)

    Greetings

    Hey.

Here is my Readout with MPPS V16.
    Engine Type: M57N2, 170 KW, 231 HP.
BMW E60, Manual Transmission from June/2006
    ECU : Bosch EDC16CP35
    File : 2 MB.
    Original BMW, Factory ZUSB: 7811719

Please be so kind and do following for me:

    - Check File integrity. (If MPPS Reads it correctly)
    - Disable DPF System and switch DPF-DTC´s to off and Zero the Regeneration Map. (I Think it doesn´t need to richen the Mixture ....)
    - Do it a little Remap to more Power and Torque. But please don´t kill my Engine- ITS NOT A RACE CAR ! I Trust you !

(I love the Torque of the engine--- can easy climb a Hill on the 6th Gear on 1400 rpm...)

    Thanks in Advance .
