Hi guys!
This post has been so far really useful for me on my journey of bringing back to life my Fiesta from 2001.
I have the famous VP44 in this one, which stopped working all of a sudden. The errors that I was getting were P1664 and P1564, which indicated me that the mosfet was gone. I opened the main circuit and indeed, one of the pins was gone.
I replaced the mosfet with another one, placed back to the car and the mosfet started to smoke. I believe that mosfet was already damaged from factory... So, I replaced it again and this time, everything seemed normal.
As soon as I give ignition, I can measure 12V in the output of the two cables(metering solenoid), so it seems that the mosfet it's actually working. I measured as well on the other solenoid, and it seems to give as well the right value.
When cranking, I can hear a click click click noise, which I think it's coming from the metering solenoid opening the fuel system.
There's fuel coming to the 4 injectors, I opened one by one to put the air out until I couldn't see any more air coming out.
But even doing all of this, the car doesn't start and I still read P1664 and P1564. What am I doing wrong?
