    Default 720

    Hi
little new to this. I have a 720 running 8.35 nc. Am i right in thinking that the best maps for north america with iq routing + CSpeech would be 845.2661.
If so, does anybody have any ideas where i could get it from?

    thanks in advance

Hi Paddy, I want to start by saying thank you for eveything that you have put up on here, I have tried different navcores and maps with no problems at all thanks to your tut.
Just a couple of questions though, I am currently running Navcore 8.544 with map UK & ROI 845.2645, this runs perfectly with full post code etc but I no longer seem to have Bluetooth Connectivity for my phone. The TomTom is a 710 GO. Is there a way around this without using the truck navcore?
Also if i were to use the Truck Navcore 8.391 is there anyway of using Truck maps as I dont believe you can use anything bigger than a 2gb SD Card in the 710, as anything larger would be a SDHC.
Is it maybe possible to get just a UK & ROI Truck map that will fit on a 2gb card?
    Many Thanks

Hi Paddy, thanks for all the maps, very mice job! I've got a stupid question but I really don't understand what navocres to use.
I've got a tomtom go 510, 7.093 with uk maps on it. I want to install north america 845_2647 on a new SD card. Can I install a TT-Navcore8.203.9717? Or what is the right file to download? Thanks

    Default TomTom Navigator 7

    Hi Paddy,

Thank you so much for your post and video, it worked a treat a my wife's now happy with her updated TomTom.

However I have a HTC PDA with Navigator 6, I want to upgrade this to Navigator 7, can I do this the same way as you have explained in this post.

    Regards

    Thanks in advance!
taken from another forum (forgot who posted it but thanks goes to him )

If you delete ALL these files & folders below off your Truck map 840.2554 & the appropriate navcore 8.395 you can now comfortably fit this on to a
2Gb SD card or into a 2Gb internal memory device.

    From the map folder, delete:
    cphoneme.dat
    crpoi.dat
    ALL cspeech.dat
    tmccodes.dat

From the root (if they're there), delete:
    ASR folder
    contacts folder
    fleetcard folder
    licences folder
    Loquendo TTS folder
    mp3 folder
    Photos folder
    raster folder
and all but 04 & 05 .chk & .vif (UK voices) from voices folder

What you lose (and depending which device you need this for may not even be available to you anyway), is:

    ASR (Address Speech Recognition)
    cspeech ((Spoken Address Navigation)
    TTS (Text to Speech)
    TMC (Traffic Message Channel)
    Photos/mp3 etc
    Bluetooth

By experimenting you may still be able to reload a couple of the above files/folders if there's something there you really cannot live without but this configuration will give you basic truck navigation without the "bells 'n whistles"

There are obviously a few more small/minor files that could also be deleted but I've not tried to shave a few Kb off for the sake of it.

I've successfully added a single voice Vocaliser and the latest speedcams too and still got nearly 84Mb free space.

Modified again:- added the art folder back into the root and the poi.dat back into the map folder to give you the car symbols & all the standard POI's again.

hi, i'm new here and i have some questions.

I have a TomTom One Classic 3rd Edition (1GB). When I bought it, it was only the Western Europe Map installed. But I want to have the following Map you have uploaded:

    Eastern Europe 840.2562 (~202MB)

RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

But I don't know how to go on, because your tut-link is down. I can't download it anymore.

I have done a backup and I'm waiting for your instructions.
    PLEASE HELP ME.

here s a tut i got ...mine s a tt 520 but shudbe the same for ur s . this tut is to change the navicore as well if u dont want to do that5 just crack ur maps with albert s easy activator ignore the navicore bit.....thabkjs to xanti take your SD card out.if u have one

Make back up.. Then format your tomtom..

Make a new folder on your desktop, to put everything in. Call it TTstuff, or whatever

Put your navcore zip in, that you downloaded from the link I gave ya. right click and chose 'extract here'

It will give you a folder called 'xl_navcore_8.410'
Copy and paste everything inside this folder (not the folder itself) into the root of your tomtom (as you have formatted it, there will only be the root anyway)

locate the file 'system' and rename it to 'systemdunno'
This will stop your bootloader version from being changed.

Right, disconnect the device, let it boot up... this will create a new ttgo.bif file.

reconnect your TT520 and explore again.

Inside the root of your tomtom, make a new folder called 'tomtom' You will put all your stuff in here so it can be found easily.

..>>>>>>>>>.just use this bit if u just wanna crack ur maps,,,,,<<<<<<<<<
In your folder on your desktop TTstuff put albert swarfegas easy activator zip in... extract here..
This file is here Digital Kaos - Downloads - Easy activator if you aint got it.

Put the Activator folder into your 'tomtom' folder on your tomtom.

Put your map folder Western_and_Central_Europe_845_2645 into' or watever u want tomtom' folder.

Right.. you have everything... apart from meta...

Run the activator... it asks for your ID number or ttgo.bif file
Locate the file in your TT520 or use the one in your back up.

It wants your map... navigate to it inside 'tomtom' folder.

It wants your meta.txt file... chose download latest file.

    Click on 'Generate .dct file'

That should be it, just reboot, and it should find your map.
