after this u should get GMAPSUPP.IMG)
3. copy on:
A) (device) change name on GMAPPROM.IMG and put into root folder /Garmin
or
B)(SD card) on SD card in to Garmin folder

run Gmaptool and hit add button
find maps in ''new'' folder
hit ''add directories'' button and find folder where are maps to join

if u want leave map on device, change name of map on GMAPPROM.IMG
if u want leave map on SD card change name of map on GMAPSUPP.IMG
below hit join all

hey man i did just what you said and it tells me now that no maps on file on the unit garmon 260w. not it dont work at all with any maps...what did i do wrong. on the garman the name of the maps was different then the one you tolds me to name it to. any ideas how to get it back up working...thansk

just make new folder on SD card named Garmin. in to this folder put map and change name of map to GMAPSUPP.IMG

but if u want instal map on device ( no on SD card) folder ''Garmin'' should be already there so put a map in to this foler and change name on GMAPPROM.IMG

just look at this picture how should be look file after changed name

For the Garmin City Navigator North America NT 2010.10 map I did as instructed but the map doesn't show up in "maps". Also, what are the other files in the download? It has: gmap3d; gmaptz.img; a jcv file; and hashtab.

Just bought a Nuvi 205w garmin and following "Bananengourmet & Inaccord I've successfully uploaded the maps to a 2G memory card and it worked first time!

Format the SD card and then make a new folder named GARMIN on the card and then copy unlocked map to Garmin folder. If map isn't unlocked you have to get the serial # of the SD card and use a key-gen to make an unlock key code.

Also 2010 maps are year old. New maps are 2011.1 Came out 4-2010

Hi, Guys, just downloaded this map and upload it to my sdcard. However I get the msg that the maps are unlocked. Any Idea why? Also, can can I exctract only one map and upload it, i.e. Calufornia and NEvada? Thx for the replies.
