    Default MK1 Golf, MK4 18t Engine

    Hi all,

My friend and me have dropped an 18t from a MK4 Golf into his MK1. We've done it before and used aftermarket management, but this time we want to keep things more standard.

Our problem is that we want to use the standard ECU, but don't want to bodge the key and clocks into the car in order for the im*obiliser to function normally - I know of people hiding them under the drivers seat! Ideally we'd get shot of the im*obiliser all together as we'll probably fit a decent alarm/im*obiliser that we have anyway.

I know it is possible to get the ECU decoded, but we're on a shoestring and don't want to push cash into something that we could potentially have a go at ourselves. We have a few ECU's, so it won't matter if we balls some up in the process!

Does anyone know what programs we'd need to decode the ECU? We've got Vagtacho 2.5 and Vag-com 3.11 working fine... but that's all we've got!

    Thanks for any help guys.

    The im*o is two output:
    1. im*o off in ECU is very easy
    2. im*o emulator

odometer you will neads from mk1 because mk1 is youngtimer
