    that kit be fine

    16 EXACT-SIZE METAL WASHERS
(Steel won't expand when hot like nylon washers and cause the RRoD again)

    8 EXACT-SIZE SPRING WASHERS
(These are needed to keep constant pressure through cycles of heating and cooling)
    boom!

Anything after Aug 2008 is pretty much unbreakable.

Issues with overheating and RROD was solved.

Think all the money MS spent on repairs and replacements made them see the light.

Try getting a heatgun and heating the solder up. Have a look round the 360 section.

There is a thread with lots of stuff on using heatgun.

Also youtube has a few tutorial videos.

Or use a hairdryer. It gets hot enough to melt solder, well ours does And it worked. Our hair dryer is 1400 watts.

    Default Bolts instead X-clamp

    Hello,

Sorry for the silly question but as it seems those bolts stretching my xbox board a bit to far. Wandering if anyone else had similar experience.

It is getting a bit bendi and it didn't cure my red lights.

If you can tell me what your secondary error code is i will tell you excatly what is wrong with your console.

press and hold the sinc button on the console when it turned on and also press the eject button this will give you a series of 1234 flashing lights

    1 light = 1
    2 light = 2
    3 light = 3
    4 light = 0

then go on to press the eject button 4 times in total still with the sinc button held in place this will give you a 4 digit code of flashing lights i.e 0102

its funny on that ebay listing they state that it is a permenant fix

the problem with that kit is i think the heads of the screws are a bit to big so when you put the board back into its case the centre is higher than the outsides.

Did you have to push the board down so you could push the rf module back into place?

I use 10mm counter sunk screws these fit perfect.
