hi all,, i have a focus 1.4 petrol zetec 2001. i have no spark due to no pulse from ecu this seems to be a common problem as i have done many but only by replacing the ecu itself , i think there must be a repair solution to this by repairing the ecu. does anyone know what goes wrong and any thoughts it can be fixed??

I remove them with hot air blower for the Drain and an Iron for the gate and source .
well this is IGBT , if you use a replacement you should change the resistor on the gate to mske some tuning to the chip .
I use a new and original replacement , I had to make a special import for these chips .

i think this was what i was looking for, mine have 5401gm but i think these are same... thanks!!!
I have a 1m5f Ecu-12a650-bd
Ford Focus 1.6
The car had no spark on two cylinders, I replaced:
two 5503dm with 5401dm and 71016sb.
Now, the car has no spark on any cylinder.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
regards
most of the times one of the is bad , BUT you should check at the source if you have a full GND if not you should check an IC at the other side of the board that gives the GND to the source. this ic has a small resistors to GND that connect the source . some time I need to change them too in case I don't have spark at the 4 cylinders .

check also if the 5401 has the ground on it's source.
if not , the 5401 takes it's ground from an ic at the other side which must be replaced .
