Default Help removing LCD from circuit board

    Hello there...

I am trying to replace the LCD screen from a really beat up sun dashboard, from one of my bikes (Yamaha XV1900 06).

Does anyone have an idea how to do it ? Please check the photos.

It looks like the LCD is plugged as a chip, I dont really think it is soldered to the circuit board, based on the clamps (picture #2) - but I might be wrong

I already took all the 3 screws (picture #1) that supposedly were hold the slot, but still not coming out.

If anyone here have any experience in disassembling this kind of slot I'd really appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Hi
I'm not sure how badly the LCD has been damaged but you can try to heat it with a heat gun. Might bring it back to life

Thanks The filter layer was loose and with air bubbles. I removed and it left a stick surface in the LCD.

Do you mean if I get rid of that stick layer (with heat) I can just glue a new filter ?

No. I never tried that. As i said i didn't know how much your screen is damaged. I guess it will not cause any harm you trying what you proposed cause the display isn't working.
