M8 first learn to write. you speak about flash as eeprom. From where do u you want 17.8.1 when not even 17.8.0 did not get out at this point for all languages, just EN & FR.

Write FLASH and EEPROM from archive, install latest vcds of any language of your choice, copy VCDSLoader and enjoy.
For me it's working WinXP, Win7, Win10 32/64.

Thank you @kolimer again for the brilliant work!

A small note: before I flashed 17.1.3 (the old version), the HW detect tool worked for me and correctly detected my HW_46 interface. After flashing, it is not able to detect it anymore and exists with "no response". Same thing happened when I upgraded to 17.8. The tools works of course on cars perfectly.

Any ideas if the new firmware or eeproms might cause the HW detect tool to not work anymore? Or maybe it is just a coincidence

@PSAcars did not test, have only RL inteface. Try it yourself & report

@stonecoldro HW detection tool should work

Everything works perfectly for RL interface.

For BM, after write ...interface not found.
With VAGCOM_EEWrite after write, version is 1.59 and firmware update required!
After update,...Interface not found! with Vcds loader.
With vcds 17.1.3 craked..License Valid.

but no internet--- i have Had another driver in this laptop ftdi --- maybe get problems from this
