    @ Kolimer , THANK YOU for this great software and the guide to make it work.

    It revived my old cable !!

    @ the whole group of contributors ,

    maybe i missed it completely , but.............

    hex-v2 is it usable ?? and most important which type from which supplier ?

    i already have a fake hex-v2 which is simply a hex-can in the new housing ( bought before joining digital-kaos ) so no octavia fl module 4b for me ............

    There is no real hex-v2 clone yet.
    But the work is being carried out against it
    I can calculate ABS module codings for:
    * Continental/Teves MK60EC1 and MK60;
    * TRW systems in Passat B6 / B7 / CC /Tiguan;
    * MK100
    ;
    * Bosch ABS8.2, ABS9.0 and ESP8.2, ESP9.0;
    * EBC 460 (UP!, Mii, Rapid, CitiGo, Fabia, Toledo, etc) New!
    *
    ... and other VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda modules.I can assist with repairing \/CDS interfaces.

    Logic says this must be FTDI. But too many pins on it to be FT232R(Q?).
    What does MProg detect/say?

    @hid3: Prolific or something else.
    Is a chip where inside his memory FTDI 232 R emulated.
    MProg "detect" as FT232R. Can read content but cannot write inside (tested).

    One question. Few persons said ATA6561 (CAN) based cables not work well.

    Because of pin 8 - STBY.
    In datasheet:
    To switch the device in normal operating mode, set the STBY pin to low and the TXD pin and the NSIL pin (if applicable) to
    high.. NSIL onli in 6560, in 6561 pin 5 is VIO - select level for 5V logic or for 3.3V logic.
    For MCP2551:
    High-speed PIN 8 0 < VRS < 0.3VDD (Pin8 in low, GND).
    For MCP2561
    Normal mode is selected by applying a low level on STBY pin.

    In all vcds cables i saw pin 8=GND.

    So, why this affirmation (cables with ATA6561 not OK because this chip go in sleep mode)?

    Wow, pretty interesting information, thanks for heads up.

    You mean it's impossible to alter anything using MProg on it? Maybe some pins need to be shorted to enable write functionality? Of course, without proper datasheet we will never know...

    Regarding ATA6561 - are there any known steps to reproduce the problem (make the interface work bad)? At least maybe it's know what happens? I guess CAN communication errors or CAN not available at all but....

    @hid3

    you wrote here http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...=1#post3273197
    about 2561 "going to sleep'. (having pin 8=stby) and i extended to 5651.

    But..i don't think this "going in sleep mode" is happend. How can pin 8, connected to GND (= normal mode) became High state?

    About that chip emulating 232R..Is NOT FTDI. Is Prolific (i suppose) or anoother product.
    And Prolific cannot be write with MProg.
    But remember: is only my oppinion is Prolific. can be chinese chip too.
    Not intresting for me..

    OK, just to clarify.
    In this case (assuming all the #8 pins to straight to GND), then it seems that technically MCP2551 = MCP2561 in this scenarion configuration and can be easily interchanged?

    If the above is true, then furthermore, MCP2551 = MCP2561 = ATA6561.

    Still I'm interested on what kind of instabilities were observed on the "HEX-V2" (based on ATA6561).

    Regarding that interface w/Prolific or be it anything else: quite strange interface, never seen anything similar. Note that it has got 19.8 MHz crystal. I can't understand what was the point to put some other chip instead of FTDI (price difference? Doubt.. What else then?!)

    I looked on Prolific, i think i made a mistake. 1% Prolific possibility.
    Can be any USB/Serial like chinese CH xxx, can be a micrococtroller (in fact, FT232R produced by China is uController with a memory), can be more devices.

    intresting is work OK. I don't remember well but when read with MProg will obtain a little difference between serials number.
    In Mprog->Read and Parse RT000001 and in device manager RTxyzqwt

    When plug in usb I get : "Usb Device Not Recognized"
    I ve changed usb cord same error...

    Excepting FTDI RQ, any other component can cause this error?
